Originally in Los Angeles, later the Hi-Way Diner on Rt. 66 in Williams. Moved again to Phoenix in 1979. Reopened in 2003. Down to nine (9) stools, for reasons unknown. (This history is taken from Kansaspedia’s Valentine subsite. Note that the history provided on the restaurant website is different. We do not claim that either is correct and the other not.) Hours are seasonal; verify through site.
Renamed Welcome Diner in 2002 and operated until mid-2018 when business moved out of diner into another restaurant in the area. Reopened as Arturo’s Roosevelt Diner in fall 2018. Reopened again Nov. 2021 by husband and wife Oswald “Ozzie” Fuentes and Shannon Moss, who repainted it a more subdued white and moss green.
