Notes:
One of the more travelled diners that’s still around in some form, WLC #645 started as the Exchange Diner in Milford, Mass., then went to Lynnfield as the Suntaug Diner. When that one was replaced with WLC #844, Worcester extensively refurbished this one and resold it in May 1956 as Gibson’s Diner in Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, which closed 1975 and in 1980 went next to Charleston, S.C. but didn’t reopen. That owner eventually sent it to Santa Monica, where it was carefully restored and eventually incorporated into the present gallery. Though not open on its own, it’s sometimes used to serve refreshments for gallery events.
