Notes:

The name is coincidence, as Mountain View Diners Co., which folded in 1957, obviously did not build this very modern-looking diner, which shrewdly blends and balances overt retro elements with ones that people of our time will consider futuristic. The name refers to the dramatic mountains visible to the north and west from the hillside vantage point of the diner’s location at the corner of McCain Drive and US-40. There is a second location in Charles Town, West Virginia, which can’t help but have mountains in view. Both have their own on-site bakery.
