Just SE of JCT Dunbar Rd.
Built by Henry Gaude, partly inspired by Gone With the Wind, to go with his gas station, Mammy’s is in the shape of the iconic Southern mammy, 8.5 m high with a warm and welcoming down-home restaurant in her ample skirt. Nearly demolished in 1979 for road expansion, but saved by preservationists, and restored starting in 1994. Nearly all the food and drink is hand-made on site in traditional style, and nearly all of it is traditional Southern cooking. Famous for blueberry iced tea, meringe, and more.
