“Where the politicians meet the real people” — Long treated as an important whistle stop for touring presidential candidates, and for media following them.
Opened in 1961 by Timoleon N. “Lindy” Chakalos (later of Timoleon Family Restaurant on Main St.), who sold it to Arietta and George Rigopoulos in 1974, who then operated it until 2003, when the sold it to Charles R. “Chuck” Criss and Nancy M. Petrillo.
Abruptly closed by Sunday 17 2019. Reopened by new owners (18 Nov.) Carroll Stubbs and Jayne Stacy 17 Dec. Grand opening planned in spring.
