Originally a sleek stainess steel modern diner, remodelled in 1992 (to an ambitious postmodern style), demolished for highway work 2008. NJDOT originally assessed the property at $2M and paid that much, but owner Thomas Kalavrouziotis’s own appraiser estimated a much higher value, and sued; in March 2011, a court agreed and ordered the state to pay the difference.
