Originally the site of a soda fountain, Chisholm’s, then Country Barn. Taken over in 1971 by Dorothy and Larry Rainosek (from Austin, Texas). UNM students and others persuaded them to add more New Mexican dishes. Frontier gradually exapanded into adjoining buildings. Walls are covered in artwork by local and national artists. John Wayne is a recurring and popular theme, a favourite of the owners.
