Opened in 1955 in White Cross Drugs by Pete Kelesis as Tiffany’s, the first diner in Las Vegas. Local legend holds that Elvis Presley and members of the Rat Pack came here. While White Cross Drug became White Cross Market in 2012, closing a year later, Tiffany’s became Vickey’s in 2014, run by Pete’s daughter Vickie, called by some “Little Pete”, with her husband Vasiliki Kelesis. Appeared in the 2007 film Lucky You.
One of many victims of the 2020 pandemic, Vickey’s final demise comes as the result of plans of the building owner to demolish and redevelop the site, the diner to close no later than 26 August. The diner hopes to reopen elsewhere. Watch this space.
