Early modern diner made in late 1938 and delivered to site in time for opening 25 April 1939 by John Balla, according to newspaper coverage. [Mike Engle] Originally named New Sodium Diner, after the sodium-powered lamps put up by GE along Rt. 7 in the 1930s. Acquired 1953 by the Kountouros family, who renamed it Tops and replaced it with a Paramount in 1964, then an on-site in 2006.
