A longtime Lawrence Park institution, opened by Harold Curtis and his wife. The small cottage directly behind the diner was put up the same year, as their home.
Purchased 1991 by Gourlias, who with help from the Lawrence Park Historical Society got it listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, and introduced its famed “Greek sauce”, a spicy meat topping (especially for fries). He sold the dinor to the current owners in 2010.
The “dinor” spelling is common in and around Erie and more generally in northwestern Pennsylvania, though its origin is obscure.
Famed for its spiced meat topping (usually on fries), called “Greek sauce”.
Reported closed for the month of May 2021.
