After serving as Demetri’s, was a series of short-lived (often less than one year) efforts, including Don’s (2010), and a buffet called Mr. Smith’s Smorgasbord (2011, which had a very artful but hard-to-read sign). Over that same time, the once nice-looking diner remarkably deteriorated, losing just about everything that made it nice to look at. Closed since a fire in 2003 and gradually deteriorating despite some efforts in 2007 to fix it up. A 2009 plan to lease it out apparently fell through. As of June 2019, the owner has been cited with multiple violations and fines.
