Originally sited at 357 Asylum Ave. in Hartford, Connecticut, then 25 years later to Kensington, Conn. where it was stripped of furnishings by creditors, making it impossible to reopen. Bought at auction in 1969 by Stanley “Squeak” and Ida Zawisa, who opened it as Squeak’s Diner at 200 East Main Street in Middletown, Conn., operating it until 1997. Moved in 2003, it eventually ending up in outdoor storage in Middletown, where it was rescued by current owner Jonathan Savage, to be restored and integrated into his ongoing refurbishment of the pre-WW2 Lorraine Mills in the Fairlawn section of Pawtucket, after which he’s renamed the diner Miss Lorraine.

Reopened Jan. 2020.
